2011 Summary: Bulldog Men’s Tennis Builds upon Program’s Tradition with National Success
July 27, 2011The University of Redlands men's tennis team relied on its senior leadership and overall depth during the 2011 campaign, culminating in a final national ranking of No. 15 among all NCAA Division III programs. The Bulldogs' difficult schedule forced them to be tested at every turn, resulting in a 13-12 overall mark and a 6-3 showing for third place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). The program also collected various individual awards and successes while sending off a dedicated class of veterans. -

Led by eventual NCAA Division III Coach of the Year Tom Whittemore, the Bulldogs put together one of the most impressive seasons in the program's history by posting a 22-11 overall record, which sits as the most victories in a single season since the 2000 season. -

July 15, 2011The University of Redlands track & field teams pieced together a season unlike any in the history of the program, highlighted by both groups winning its respective conference title. With the women earning their third crown in four years and the men dethroning long-time champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, the Bulldogs will soon not forget the experiences of the 2011 campaign. In addition to these historical achievements, Redlands reset various program standards and sent a record number of student-athletes to the NCAA Championships for an incredible season finale. -
Bulldog Men’s Tennis Gains ITA All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete Awards
July 14, 2011It was announced late yesterday that the University of Redlands men’s tennis team collected Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honors for boasting a combined cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above. In addition, four players garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status, which requires that the individual be a varsity letter-winner, own a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current year, and have attended their present institution for at least two semesters. -

July 11, 2011The University of Redlands men’s golf program returned to its classic Bulldog winning ways in 2011, earning a trip back to the NCAA Championships following a year hiatus while collecting several tournament titles and individual awards. After missing the cut for nationals in 2010, the Maroon and Gray rallied for a 10th-place showing at the elite tournament with a focused senior group guiding a rejuvenated group of underclassmen and a talented freshman class. -

Three Women's Track & Field Standouts Earn Capital One® Academic All-District Honors
June 02, 2011It was announced early Thursday that three members of the University of Redlands women's track & field team garnered a spot on the Capital One® College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Second Team for their academic and athletic accomplishments. Seniors Kelsey Bermudez (La Verne, CA), Mackenzie Smith (Hoquiam, WA) and Kortney Watring (Riverside, CA) collected this distinction after a tremendous final campaign that included national appearances for each student-athlete. -

Bulldog Track & Field Garners Nine All-America Accolades to Wrap up NCAA Outdoor Championships
May 29, 2011The University of Redlands track & field program produced nine All-Americans in the final day of competition at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Delaware, OH, on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. From a team-scoring standpoint, the men finished tied for 14th overall, collecting 16 points over the three-day meet, while the women's team tied for 65th with two points. -

All-Americans Casserd and Spearman End Season with Quarterfinal Loss to Amherst College at NCAA Championships
May 27, 2011University of Redlands' men's tennis seniors Jeff Casserd (Bellevue, WA) and Cameron Spearman (Laguna Niguel, CA) ended their 2011 campaign on Saturday with a three-set loss to a duo from Amherst College (MA) in the quarterfinals of the 2011 NCAA Men's Tennis Individual Championships at the nearby Biszants Family Tennis Center and Pauley Tennis Complex in Claremont. The duo's loss closes out an impressive and historical run as the four-year student-athletes garner All-America honors for their efforts at the NCAA Championships.
