Freshman Outfielder Amanda Lievanos Lands on Two All-America Teams

It was recently announced that freshman outfielder Amanda Lievanos (Anaheim, CA) collected a pair of All-America honors for her contributions to the 15th-ranked University of Redlands softball team during the 2011 campaign. She landed among the top NAIA, NCAA Division II and III players as a member of the 12-player Easton® Fastpitch All-America team. In addition, she represented the Bulldogs on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America First Team.

During the Maroon and Gray's school-record-setting 36-11 season, Lievanos led the Redlands starters in nine offensive categories, highlighted by a slugging percentage of .824 to go along with 54 RBI. In addition to the aforementioned categories, she now sits atop the single-season records at Redlands for batting average (.473), hits (70), home runs (10), and runs scored (58).

Earlier this season, Lievanos was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Player of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their seventh consecutive title. She helped the team to run the table at the SCIAC Postseason Tournament en route to the program's seventh straight trip to the NCAA Championships. While competing in the NCAA first-round tournament at the University of Texas at Tyler, the Bulldogs finished tied for second, which equaled the their previous best showing from the 2007 event. For her contributions during this year's competition, Lievanos garnered a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team as an at-large honoree.

Lievanos became eligible for the NFCA All-America award when she was named to the NFCA All-West Region First Team, which was announced in late May.

Overall, Lievanos finished out her rookie campaign by ranking 18th and 26th in all of Division III for runs per game (1.23) and batting average (.473), respectively.
