No. 26 Redlands Women's Tennis Heads to No. 7 Pomona-Pitzer for Opening Match of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament

The No. 26 University of Redlands women's team heads to seventh-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday, May 4, for the opening match of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament. The Bulldogs snagged the No. 3-seed in the tournament with a conference record of 5-2. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (7-0) captured the No. 1 spot, while Pomona-Pitzer (6-2) gained the No. 2-seed. Finally, Chapman University (4-3) completes the tournament field as the No. 4-seed.

Redlands looks to bounce back against Pomona-Pitzer after recently dropping a tough match to the Sagehens.

Sophomore Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) leads the team's singles efforts, owning a 5-1 record in conference. Ikioka and her partner Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) take the top spot in doubles with a 5-2 SCIAC record.

There will be no charge for admission at Pomona-Pitzer's courts on Friday.

Following Friday's action, the remainder of the tournament takes place at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 5.

Friday, May 4, at higher seed

Match 1: No. 4 Chapman at No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps @ 3 p.m.

Game 2: No. 3 Redlands at No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer @ 1 p.m.

Saturday, May 5, at highest remaining seed

Finals to be played at 1 p.m.

If the same school hosts both men's and women's finals and the host school does not have 12 courts the schedule will be, women play at 1 p.m. followed by the men at 3 p.m.
