SCIAC Women's Water Polo Weekly Release No. 2

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Water Polo Athletes of the Week in the second week of voting and University of Redlands senior goalie Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. 

Tori led the defensive unit for the University of Redlands as they competed in the Lancer Joust Invite.  Over the four games where the Bulldogs took on Biola University, California Baptist University, Fresno Pacific University, and Azusa Pacific University Zielinski totaled 37 Saves and five Steals.  Here 37 stops tied her for the most in the tournament.  She also finished sixth in save percentage (.416).

She opened up the invite with ten saves against Biola then followed that up with nine saves and two steals against Cal Baptist.  The next day she was red hot between the posts adding 12 saves and two steals against Fresno Pacific and then finished with six stops and a steal against Azusa Pacific University.  

Redlands returns to the pool on Saturday, February 18 when they host both Cal State Fullerton (9:00am) and Concordia (CA) (3:00pm).
