Kvanvig and Nielsen Represent Redlands Women's Water Polo on the All-SCIAC Team

It was announced earlier today that two University of Redlands women's water polo student-athletes landed on the 2021 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Team for their contributions during the pandemic-shortened season.  Junior attacker Holly Kvanvig (Beaverton, OR) and sophomore attacker Katrina Nielsen (Houston, TX) garnered their inaugural All-Conference honor for the Bulldogs.

Kvanvig led the team with 11 goals, as highlighted by a four-goal outburst in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament semifinal against Chapman University.  She scored at least once in every contest this season.  Furthermore, she provided two assists, drew six exclusions, and tallied three steals.

Nielsen added nine goals to rank second on the team.  Her offense included the game-winner in the Maroon and Gray's exciting, season-opening win over Chapman.  She also scored at least once in every game.  Nielsen provided 10 steals in a stellar defensive effort to go along with two exclusions drawn and one field block.

The Bulldogs (2-4) made the most of their six games, upending the No. 2 seed Chapman University Panthers in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament to earn a spot in the championship game.
