The University of Redlands women's water polo team embarked upon the 2018 season with a busy day at the Whittier College Mini-Tournament.  The Bulldogs faced Concordia University – Irvine and Azusa Pacific University while also taking on the host school in an exhibition match.  Unfortunately, all three results went against the Maroon and Gray.

In the Bulldogs' game against Concordia, the team rallied for four goals in the fourth quarter but came up short in the 6-13 decision.  Junior attack player Sami Walker (Taylorsville, UT) led the charge with two goals in the final frame, while senior attack player Michelle Na (Mercer Island, WA) and junior center Kolby Kahahawai (Kailua, HI) added one apiece.

After Redlands dropped an 8-14 loss to Whittier in an exhibition, the team took on APU in the evening match.  The Bulldogs kept things close through the opening period, resulting in a 2-2 score through eight minutes.  Na and Kahahawai once again stepped up by scoring one each.  By the end of the contest, Na and junior attack player Wendy McAleer (Simi Valley, CA) had registered two netters apiece.

Redlands (0-2) takes on Occidental College on Saturday, February 10, in an exhibition match at the Thompson Aquatic Center at 11 a.m.
