The University of Redlands women's water polo team took to the pool for competition for the first time this season by competing at the Cal Baptist Lancer Mini-Tournament on Saturday.  Despite losing both contests by sizeable margins, the Bulldogs gained experience against 16th-ranked Loyola Marymount University (2-20) and the host school (3-18).

In the opening contest, Redlands gained one goal each from senior attack player Annie Kinney (Newport Beach, CA) and senior utility player Taylor Christie (Anaheim, CA).  Sophomore attack players Michelle Na (Mercer Island, WA) and Rachel Haney (Redmond, OR), and Kinney scored once apiece in the second match of the day.

Freshman goalkeepers Katelyn Jenkins (Bellevue, WA) and Allison Totzke (San Bernardino, CA) shared time between the posts during the first game, making three saves between them.  Against CBU, freshman Carmen Gardner (San Jose, CA) and senior AC Lopez (Northridge, CA) patrolled the cage, tallying two stops apiece.

Redlands (0-2) continues its difficult, early-season slate with a pair of home games on Saturday, February 20.  The Bulldogs take on No. 20 Long Beach State University at 12 p.m., before battling it out with Azusa Pacific University at 2 p.m.
