It was announced on Monday that the University of Redlands women's volleyball team was among the 175 NCAA Division III programs to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for scholarly success in 2018-19.

Initiated in 1992-93, this honor recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) throughout the year.  According to the AVCA's announcement, the award reached a new record of 1,126 teams around the country for an improvement of 148 since last year.

Redlands garners the distinction for the fifth year in a row, with the last four coming under Head Coach Lisa Lindberg. This year's 19-woman roster combined for a 3.4436 over the two semesters, with eight of them owning a 3.5 or higher.

Overall, the Bulldogs have earned eight, team academic awards since 2009-10.
