The University of Redlands volleyball team made the trek to Thousand Oaks on Friday night to square off against the ninth-ranked Cal Lutheran University Regals.  The Bulldogs had few answers for the high-flying attack of the tied-for-first-place opponents and suffered a 16-25, 11-26, 17-25 loss in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition.

The Regals came out on fire, stealing away any sort of early lead from the Bulldogs, with an efficient offense and prolific defense.

Highlighting the night for the Maroon and Gray, freshman outside hitter Emma Böttger (Orange, CA) knocked down six kills, while senior middle blocker Ashton Martin (Redlands, CA) provided five.  Junior Ellie McLeod (Redlands, CA) dished out 10 assists.  Sophomore libero Abby Hickman (Phoenix, AZ) led the team with 10 digs.

Redlands (6-19, 2-13 SCIAC) returns home to Currier Gym on Saturday, October 31, for Senior Night.  The Bulldogs host No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in a 6 p.m. match to close out the season
