Redlands Volleyball Swept by Pomona-Pitzer

The University of Redlands volleyball team faced off against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Tuesday night, falling short against the Sagehens in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action by scores of 12-25, 22-25, 23-25.

After Pomona-Pitzer unleashed a relentless attack of .483 in the opening set, the Bulldogs regrouped to knock down four more kills than their opponents in the final two stanzas. However, it was not enough to extend the match, resulting in the straight-set defeat.

Sophomore outside hitter Morgan Buckner (San Rafael, CA) led the Maroon and Gray's offense with 12 kills, while three players tallied a hitting percentage of .385 or better.  Senior outside hitter Dorothy Catanese (Corona, CA) highlighted this trio with her .500 clip, which came on a 2-for-4 showing.

Sophomore Brittney Overgaag (Bermuda Dunes, CA) recorded a team-high 17 digs, while sophomore setter Jennifer Wacker (Longmont, CO) distributed 21 assists for the Bulldogs.

Redlands (3-21, 2-10) heads to Occidental College for a SCIAC match on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
