Despite taking game one, the University of Redlands volleyball
team fell to the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, 25-23, 13-25,
19-25, 16-25, on Saturday night in the season finale.
Redlands (12-15, 6-8 SCIAC) looked to the consistent play of junior
outside hitter Ali Massei (San Carlos, CA) to lead the offense with
nine kills while supplying 11 digs on defense. Sophomore middle
blocker Meghan Phillips (Vista, CA) came up with seven kills and
two total blocks in the loss. Sophomore libero Chelsea Arcaris
(Vista, CA) supplied a team-leading 14 digs while junior setter
Kelina Smith (Kurtistown, HI) dished out 18 assists.
The Bulldogs finished fifth in the conference standings.
Pomona-Pitzer ended up tied for third.
