Kendall Bolock named SCIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

SCIAC Women's Tennis Weekly Release No. 11

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week in the eleventh week of voting and University of Redlands senior Kendall Bolock (Yucaipa, CA) earns recognition for the first time this season and the second time in her career. 

Kendall was untouchable on the week for the University of Redlands Women's Tennis team as they went 3-0 with wins over No. 39 Chapman (7-2), Occidental (9-0) and UC Santa Cruz (8-1). 

Bolock was perfect on the week going 6-0 playing No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs.  She partnered with Olivia Rockwood (Park City, UT) and grabbed three doubles victories beating CU 8-2, OXY 8-5 and UCSC 8-5.  Then in singles she rolled in two of the three matches beating the Panthers No. 1 6-1, 6-1 and the Banana Slugs No. 1 6-1, 6-0.  The tough test came against the Tigers' No. 1 Fukushige where Bolock needed a breaker in the third to pull off the win 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.  

The Bulldogs have clinched a spot in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament, set to be played April 28-29.  They are waiting for the rest of the SCIAC schedule to be completed, which will determine their seeding and opponent.
