Kiana Brady named SCIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

SCIAC Women's Tennis Weekly Release No. 7

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Tennis Athletes of the Week in the seventh week of voting and University of Redlands sophomore Kiana Brady (Hermosa Beach, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.   

Kiana was dominate for the University of Redlands this past week as they went 1-1, which included a 5-4 win over No. 16 Bowdoin College and a tight 5-4 loss to Whitman.  Kiana was perfect on the week going 4-0.  Against Whitman she was 2-0 with a win at No. 2 doubles with partner Christine O'Brien winning 8-6.  She then returned in singles at No. 3 rolling 6-2, 6-1.

The next day the Bulldogs took on Bowdoin in a battle that went the distance and Kiana again was perfect going 2-0 winning at No. 2 doubles with O'Brien 8-3 before taking out her opponent at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2.   

Redlands returns to the court this Thursday, March 23 when they host Williams College beginning at 11:00am.
