SCIAC Preseason Women's Tennis Coaches Poll

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2023 Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll with the Bulldogs slated to finish third behind 2022 National Champions and No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) predicted to win the conference championship and No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) who is second.

The Bulldogs received 45 points with seven of the eight first place votes going to CMS and the other vote going to P-P.

Redlands' third place predicted finish would match their finish from 2022. Under then first-year head coach Pete Yellico, the Bulldogs went 11-8, 5-2 SCIAC and reached the SCIAC Tournament along with qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships where they made it to the Round of 16, their furthest journey in the Championships since 2009 when they also made the Round of 16. Redlands finished the season ranked 15th, their highest end-of-year finish since 2013 when they were ranked 11th.

The Bulldogs head into the spring as the No. 15 team in the country and the No. 3 team in the West Region, sitting behind only CMS and P-P. Other nationally ranked SCIAC teams include No. 19 Caltech and No. 31 Chapman.

On the individual side, the Bulldogs return both of their All-SCIAC members in first teamer Olivia Rockwood (Park City, UT) and second teamer Kendall Bolock (Yucaipa, CA). O. Rockwood and Bolock each finished 2022 ranked nationally at No. 14 and 18. In doubles Gabby Rockwood (Park City, CA) and Bolock led the way at No. 12 in the West Region.

Redlands' first competitive dual will come on Thursday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. when they host Brandeis University.
