Sophomore Sarah Ikioka Tabbed SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Sarah Ikioka was selected as the SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced earlier today that sophomore Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) was selected as the SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.  She is one of two student-athletes to represent the University of Redlands among the weekly honorees, with junior catcher Nova Siegel earning the honor in softball.

Ikioka captured both of the Maroon and Gray's points in a 2-7 loss to No. 19 Brandeis University (MA) during No. 35 Redlands' only match of the week.  Ikioka joined forces with junior Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) to prevail over the No. 1 doubles tandem by a score of 8-4.  Ikioka also rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the top spot in singles for a fine outing on Verdieck Courts.

Redlands (3-1) heads to Texas for three matches on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3.  The Bulldogs face Trinity University in the first contest on Friday at 11 a.m. PT in San Antonio.
