Senior Natalie Etchegaray Becomes Two-Time ITA All-American to Highlight Bulldogs’ Final National Rankings

It was announced late Thursday that University of Redlands senior Natalie Etchegaray (Placentia, CA) landed among the NCAA Division III's top-20 singles players in the final national rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), which results in her second All-America award in as many years.  According to the final rankings, she sits 13th in the country for singles, fulfilling one of the five criteria to qualify for this elite honor. The 2016 ITA West Region Senior Player of the Year began this season ranked No. 35, improving 22 spots over the course of the campaign.

In addition, Etchegaray and senior Lauren Villanueva (El Segundo, CA) rank among the best doubles teams in the country by landing at No. 17 in the final poll.  The duo began the season unranked but eventually qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships.

Overall as a team, the Bulldogs garnered a year-end national ranking of No. 19 after posting a record of 16-8 against a high-caliber slate of Division III opponents.

Since 1995, the Redlands women's tennis program has finished among the top 25 teams in all but two years, and earned a top-20 mark on 11 occasions.
