The No. 13 University of Redlands women's tennis team took on the No. 2 Ephs of Williams College (MA) on Friday afternoon in a non-conference bout on Verdieck Courts.  Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the visitors embraced the warmer climate and palm-tree-lined courts as their own, handing a shutout defeat to the home team.

In doubles, Williams earned all three points in decisive fashion, allowing he Maroon and Gray to win just four total games among the three matches.

The Ephs continued to cruise in singles, as they won all six showdowns in straight sets.  Redlands' junior Julia Pollak (Holland, PA) battled her No. 5 opponent but fell short by scores of 6-3, 6-2.

The Bulldogs (7-7, 2-1 SCIAC) have little time to reflect on the loss, as they head to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match against the fifth-ranked Athenas.
