2021 Women's Soccer All-SCIAC Teams

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their 2021 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams this week with University of Redlands receiving one selection, senior Eva Vlassopoulos (Portland, OR) being named to the 1st Team.

This is the 27th straight season (no selections were made by the SCIAC in 2020) a player has been selected to an All-SCIAC team for the Bulldogs women's program.  This is also Vlassopoulos' third selection to an All-SCIAC team, being named 1st Team All-SCIAC (2018) and 2nd Team All-SCIAC (2019) as a midfielder.

This season Vlassopoulos scored a career-high eight goals with one assist for the Maroon and Grey, with two of her goals being game-winners. The second of her two game-winning goals came in the last regular season game for the Bulldogs at Caltech. Vlassopoulos won the game in the 102nd minute of the second overtime, helping Redlands to a 3-2 come from behind victory. Not only did Vlassopoulos score the game winner, but she scored the equalizer in the 90th minute with only three seconds left in the game as the Bulldogs were able to overcome a 2-0 deficit in the final six minutes.

Vlassopoulos scored in six different games on the season helping UR go 5-1 in those contests. She was also involved in another win, where she provided an assist, giving the Bulldogs a 6-1 record in games she added at least one point.

In 2021 Vlassopoulos scored eight goals which puts her in a tie for ninth place with Bree Denison (1997), Erica Jahn (2008), and Becky Willis (2008) for the most in a single season within Redlands women's soccer history.

In her career, Vlassopoulos has scored 20 goals which ties her with Aurora Romans (1996-99) for the seventh most all-time in the Redlands career record books.  She also has 48 career points which places her ninth all-time, a point behind Candace Hayward (1999-2002) and a spot ahead of Jahn (2005-08). Vlassopoulos also joins the ten goal and five assist club with 20 goals and eight assists in her career. She ranks ninth all-time again in between Hayward and Jahn.

Other players who received votes during the process included Rilee Mezenen, Sami SalinasCourtney Stewart, Malia Kuhl, and Peyton Fendrich.
