The University of Redlands women's soccer team traveled to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday night to face the Athenas in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match-up.  After CMS scored twice in the first half, the Bulldogs jumped on the board in the 82nd minute but ran out of time to complete the comeback.

CMS scored two goals late in the first half, forcing the Bulldogs to work from behind.

Heading into the second stanza, the team upped the intensity on the offensive third, as sophomore forward Hayley Romo (Port Orchard, WA) unleashed two quick shots, with sophomore midfielder Rachel Tungol (San Ramon, CA) adding one.

The Bulldogs' efforts came to fruition in the 82nd minute, when freshman forward Gabby Hart (Sammamish, WA) linked up with sophomore midfielder Lauren Bay (Oak Park, CA) to net her third goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Hannah Menk (Pleasanton, CA) totaled four saves on the night to keep the game close.

Although the team fought hard, the Athenas held onto their lead as the game came to a close.

The Bulldogs (3-11-1, 2-9-1 SCIAC) look to move forward as they face the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Wednesday, October 26, at 7 p.m. on Farquhar Field.
