With 28 seconds remaining in the second half, junior midfielder Meghan King (Portland, OR) secured an exciting 3-2 victory for the University of Redlands women's soccer team over non-conference foe Chapman University on Wednesday night. After an even first half, the teams each scored a duo of goals in a seven-minute span, with the Bulldogs harboring a 2-0 lead only to see it disappear moments later.  However, King iced the Redlands win when she connected on a sweet game-winner from junior midfielder Kendall Pegan (Lafayette, CA) and junior defender Maddy Cartwright (Salt Lake City, UT), pushing the Bulldogs past last season's NCAA Championship first–round opponent.

Senior forward Jaimie Morton (Boise, ID) starred for the Maroon and Gray by posting back-to-back scores at the 51:55 and 54:29 marks, respectively.

However, the Panthers refused to go away as junior midfielder Karina Cisneros (Upland, CA) answered the Bulldog attack by collecting two goals of her own in the 58th and 59th minute.

But it was King's late-game heroics that finally decided the final outcome for the Maroon and Gray.

Junior starting goalkeeper Linzey Smith (Anaheim Hills, CA) held down the Bulldogs' fort for the first half, notching a scoreless opening frame while picking up a save in the process. Sophomore Sabrina Grandke-Bawab (Kirkland, WA) finished out the game for the win and four saves.

The Maroon and Gray owned the offensive advantage, outshooting the Panthers by a margin of 25-13.

Redlands (4-3-1) heads to Claremont to battle it out with conference foe Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday at 11 a.m.
