The University of Redlands women’s soccer team pitched a
shutout in Eagle Rock on Saturday, blanking Occidental College,
2-0.
In a match where neither team took more than 11 shots, Redlands
mustered two goals, making the most of its offensive chances.
Junior midfielder Jessi Hoyt (Boise, ID) scored in the 13th minute
off of a pass from junior defender Breann Puchalski (Redlands, CA),
putting the Bulldogs up early, 1-0.
For the second time this season, junior defender Chelsea Hafley
(Redlands, CA) found the back of the net as she posted an
unassisted goal in the 78th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) managed her
second shutout in as many games, making six saves on the afternoon.
Robin Feldman played the full 90 minutes between the pipes for
Occidental and sustained the loss, stopping four shots.
Redlands (3-3, 2-0 SCIAC) takes a weeklong break from competition
before hosting a crucial match against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Colleges on Saturday. Game time is set for 11 a.m. on Farquhar
Field.
