Senior forward Becky Willis (Escondido, CA) caused numerous
problems for Whittier College women’s soccer team with her
supreme playmaking ability, tallying one goal and three assists for
the No. 21 University of Redlands women’s soccer team (6-1-1,
3-0 SCIAC) in a 6-0 rout.
Just four minutes into the game, sophomore midfielder Jessi Hoyt
(Boise, ID) scored off of a Willis pass, putting the Bulldogs out
in front early 1-0. Willis tacked on another goal at the
nine-minute mark off of a feed by sophomore midfielder Kelsey
Kimmel (Clinton, WA).
The Bulldogs’ leading goal scorer this year, senior forward
Erica Jahn (Davis, CA), added her name to the list of goal scorers
with a goal off of a Willis pass in the 17th minute. Willis found
the feet of Hoyt again in the 24th minute, giving the maroon and
gray a comfortable 4-0 halftime lead.
Jahn opened scoring in the second half with a goal off of a pass
from sophomore forward Ashley MacHolda (Minnetonka, MN), which
proved to be Jahn’s fifth score this season.
Off of a penalty kick, sophomore defender Chelsea Hafley (Redlands,
CA) scored, locking the score at 6-0.
