CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (3-8, 1-6) was unable to overcome a big first quarter deficit as they fell 21-4 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) on Wednesday night.

In the first three minutes the Athenas were able to secure a 3-0 advantage, but Jenna Bradford (Anaheim, CA) pulled a goal back on a free position at the 11:49 mark. For the Bulldogs that was their only goal of the first quarter as they trailed 11-1 after 15 minutes.

Redlands, though, scored first in the second as they got another tally at the 13:19 mark thanks to Natalie Schumann (Murrieta, CA) who found the back of the net.

After conceding 11 in the first 15 minutes, the Bulldogs' defense did not allow the next Athena goal until the 8:23 mark and only conceded three in the second.

With 2:22 remaining in the half Catie Ramicone (Countryside, IL) found Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) to even the scoring in the quarter at two all, but at the half Redlands still trailed 14-3.

Just like the second quarter the Bulldogs were able to get on the scoreboard first to open the second half as Bradford picked up her second of the game thanks to a free position opportunity only :39 seconds into the period. For the Bulldogs that would be their only goal of the quarter as they fell 21-4.

Despite conceding 21, first-year goalkeeper Alyssa Ashley (Vista, CA) made 11 saves. Offensively Bradford scored her third-straight multi-goal game as she found the back of the net a team-high two times.

Redlands will stay on the road this Saturday, April 8 when they travel to Orange County to take on Chapman University beginning at 11:00am looking to end their three game losing streak.
