SEWANEE, Tenn. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team began their two-game road trip to Tennessee with a 20-14 loss to Sewanee.

The Bulldogs kept it close throughout but a 5-2 3rd Quarter in favor of the Tigers proved the difference as they would drop to 1-4, 0-3 SCIAC.

It took some time for Redlands to find their offense, but after nearly 13 minutes without scoring, they would tack on two-straight to tie the game with less than a minute to play in the first quarter. Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) scored both goals, the first came with a player advantage.

After conceding two late tallies to the Tigers, Jenna Bradford (Anaheim, CA) pulled the Bulldogs within one, 4-3, thanks to a free position goal at the 12:59 mark of the second.

Sewanee scored a couple minutes later to extend the lead back to two, but Webster and Cailin Walker (Portland, OR) would each find the back of the net drawing Redlands even at five with 7:07 left in the opening half.

After the two teams combined for only four goals in the opening nine minutes, they would score a total of seven goals across the final 5:53 as UR trailed by three, 10-7, at the end of the first half. The Bulldogs' two goals, which tied the game at seven, came from Bradford, her second, and Webster, which gave her a hat trick.

The Bulldogs started to fall behind in the first six and a half minutes of the third as the 3-0 run to end the half for the Tigers was extended to seven straight as the deficit grew to six, 13-7.

Catie Ramicone (Countryside, IL) ended the 11:59 scoreless streak with 5:45 still left in the third. A couple of minutes later Bradford converted on a free position as she joined Webster with a hat trick to bring Redlands within five, 14-9.

Much like the third, the Tigers put the game away in the first six minutes of the fourth with four unanswered goals to take their largest lead of the game at ten, 19-9.

Despite trailing by double digits, the Bulldogs scored five of the final six goals and made it a six-goal, 20-14 final scoreline. In the final 6:42, Walker scored, Ramicone got her second, Bradford had an assist, and Webster added three more goals to finish with seven.

Webster finished with a game and career-high seven goals on only 12 shots. Ramicone and Walker each finished with a pair of goals and Bradford finished with three goals and the lone Bulldog assist. In goal Nicole Hutten (Hinsdale, IL) finished with eight saves as she returned to the Bulldogs after missing the Occidental game.

The Bulldogs will stay in Tennessee as they play a neutral site contest against Albion on Thursday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. PST.
