2022 Women's Lacrosse All-SCIAC Teams

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2022 All-Conference Women's Lacrosse team earlier today, with the University of Redlands gaining three members among the honorees.

Sophomore Celine Flaig (Redondo Beach, CA) landed on the 1st Team as an Attacker joining senior Sydney Louie (Lafayette, CA) who made her way onto the 1st Team as a Midfielder.  The third selection was senior Kaitlyn Lesko (Buford, GA) who earned 2nd Team accolades as a Defender.

Flaig lands on the 1st Team for the second straight year following an impressive 2022 season where she totaled 33 goals, five assists, 41 groundballs, 52 draw controls, 27 caused turnovers and a 58% shot percentage.  She was named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week twice and had three record breaking performances in a single game against Whittier College on the road finishing with a career high nine goals, an assist, and 13 groundballs, which now moves her to No. 2 in the University of Redlands record books for goals in a single game (9), No. 1 in the record books for points in a single game (10) and No. 1 for groundballs in a single game (13).

In SCIAC she ranked No. 1 in Caused Turnovers, No. 2 in Groundballs, No. 3 in Goals Scored and Draw Controls, No. 4 in Shots on Goal, and No. 5 in Shots Taken. 

Louie finds herself on an All-SCIAC team for the first time in her career after putting up career numbers this year.  She ran the point for the Bulldogs posting 18 goals and 18 assists within conference along with 29 groundballs, 25 draw controls, 16 caused turnovers, and an 82% shot-on-goal percentage.  She was also named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

In SCIAC she ranked No. 3 in Assists, No. 5 in Free-Position Goals, No. 6 in Shots, No. 7 in Shots-on-Goal, No. 8 in Caused Turnovers, and No. 9 in Groundballs.

Lesko also lands on an All-SCIAC team for the first time in her career after leading the backline this season.  She was one of the toughest defenders in the conference posting two goals, 30 groundballs, nine draw controls, and 20 caused turnovers.  She led a defensive unit that totaled 150 caused turnovers, helped in 129 clears, and allowed 177 goals on the season.           

In SCIAC she ranked No. 4 in Caused Turnovers and No. 8 in Groundballs.

Redlands has ended their 2022 campaign, posting a 6-10, 5-7 SCIAC record, finishing in a tie for fourth within the conference standings.
