Freshman Sadie Pickering Selected as SCIAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week

Freshman midfielder/attack player Sadie Pickering (Tacoma, WA) received her first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week honor, as announced on Monday afternoon.

She continues to impress during her rookie campaign, with last week's results including a five-goal outburst on five shots to lead the Maroon and Gray to a solid 15-9 win over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.

Aside from shooting a perfect 1.000 on the night, Pickering also converted her only free-position shot for a goal.  She also recorded three draw controls and one ground ball.

On the season, Pickering ranks second on the team in goals with 18 on the season and sits tied for second in points with 19.

Redlands (5-2) plays host to Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday, March 17, in a 7 p.m. non-conference game on Farquhar Field.
