Quality Quartet Represents Redlands Women's Lacrosse on All-SCIAC Teams

It was announced earlier today that the University of Redlands women's lacrosse program landed four on the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) teams, as voted upon by the six head coaches of the sponsoring member institutions.  Junior attack player Dulce Moll (Mercer Island, WA) and senior midfielder Stephanie Garrett (San Diego, CA) represent the Bulldogs on the First Team, while senior defender Sam Keary (Mission Viejo, CA) received Second-Team recognition.  In addition, senior defender Angelyn Brown (Danville, CA) was honored as a member of the SCIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Moll repeats as a First-Teamer, following last year's nod.  This season, she competed in all 11 conference games and scored 33 points off of 19 goals and 14 assists.  She also collected 15 ground balls and four draw controls while forcing seven opponent turnovers.  She put together an impressive outing in the Bulldogs' 13-7 win over Occidental College on February 24, when she contributed to more than half of the team's offensive output by unleashing four goals and dishing out three assists.

Highlighted by her previous pair of Offensive Athlete of the Year awards, Garrett earns her fourth-consecutive All-SCIAC honor to cap off a solid career in the SCIAC.  While competing against conference foes, she fired off 26 goals and seven assists en route to a 33-point performance.  Known for her skill and tenacity in the center circle, she hauled in a conference-leading 49 draw controls during SCIAC competition.  She also provided 33 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.  She provided an incredible stat line in the Maroon and Gray's 13-10 win over Whittier that included five goals and eight draw controls.

Keary completes an unprecedented four-year career as a dual-sport student-athlete with back-to-back All-SCIAC nods in lacrosse.  This season, she scored 10 goals against conference foes, as highlighted by an amazing five-goal outburst against Occidental College on April 9 that included the game-winner with 48 seconds left.  This defensively savvy competitor also collected 24 ground balls and 15 draw controls while forcing 11 opponent turnovers.

After battling back from injury, Brown represents the Bulldog among the six-player All-Sportsmanship Team.  On the field, she competed in six conference games as a dedicated defender.  She tallied seven ground balls, four draw controls, and seven caused turnovers.

"Angelyn has shown such support for her teammates... She is always looking for ways to celebrate the little successes and she is an inspiration to everyone around her," Head Coach Suzette Soboti shared.
