Senior Lacrosse Standout Stephanie Garrett Tabbed SCIAC Female Co-Athlete of the Week

It was announced earlier today that senior midfielder Stephanie Garrett (San Diego, CA) of the University of Redlands women's lacrosse team was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Female Co-Athlete of the Week for her contributions from March 21 to March 27.

Garrett led the Redlands women's lacrosse team to a 3-0 week with solid wins over DePauw University (IN), Pacific University (OR), and George Fox University (OR). As a team, the Bulldogs out-scored their opponents, 48-25, in an impressive offensive display. Leading the charge, Garrett fired off 13 goals off of 23 shots to go along with two assists.

She also pulled in 14 draw controls and eight ground balls, and forced five opponent turnovers.

Outside of already owning the school record for career draw controls (303), she currently leads the team and the SCIAC in goals (38) and free-position goals (15) for the 2016 season.

So far this season, Garrett has scored at least two goals in 10 of the Bulldogs' 12 games.

Garrett joins Kana Moriyama of Caltech's women's tennis team in this week's honor.  In addition, Chapman University's Gavin Blodgett was named the SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week.
