The University of Redlands women's lacrosse team wrapped up its trip to Colorado Springs with a tough 7-20 loss to Colorado College on Sunday morning.  The Bulldogs' early lead was not enough to counter the Tigers' prolific attack in the non-conference match-up of in-region foes.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage after back-to-back goals from sophomore attack Dulce Moll (Mercer Island, WA) and junior midfielder Ellen Holt (Happy Valley, OR).

But the Tigers quickly answered with a 7-0 run to close out the first half with a solid lead.

Redlands rallied early in the second stanza by firing off three-consecutive scores of its own to cut the deficit to 5-7. Moll successfully converted a free-position shot to initiate the scoring spurt and then provided the assist on senior midfielder Emily Dalrymple's (Snohomish, WA) subsequent goal.  Freshman attack Katy Miele (Rumson, NJ) completed the Bulldogs' one-minute hat trick by finding the back of the net on another Moll assist.

However, a foul-plagued Redlands team saw Colorado College erupt for another seven goals, providing sufficient cushion for the Tigers to secure the win.

The Bulldogs gained additional goals from Holt and Miele but it was not enough to overcome the late-game deficit.

Sophomore goalkeeper Gigja Hollyday (Aliso Viejo, CA) patrolled the cage for the Maroon and Gray, making nine stops in 53 minutes of action.

Junior midfielder Stephanie Garrett (San Diego, CA) pulled in five of the team's nine draw controls, while junior defender Sam Keary (Mission Viejo, CA) and freshman attack McKenna Tychsen (Park City, UT) grabbed three ground balls each.

Redlands (7-4, 3-2 SCIAC) next heads to Chapman University on Saturday, April 4, for a 7 p.m. Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown with the Panthers.
