After an outstanding inaugural season with the Bulldogs,
freshman attack player Christy Smith (St. Louis Park, MN) was named
to the WomensLacrosse.com Division III All-Rookie Team. Among the
best in the nation, Smith was the only player from the West Coast
who garnered a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Smith guided the University of Redlands women’s lacrosse team
to a solid 9-6 record by breaking nine school records, which
included the single-season marks for goals at 68, points at 73, and
draw controls at 64. Additionally, she set the single-game records
at Redlands for goals and points by putting away 10 goals for 10
points in the Bulldogs’ March 22 match against Colorado
College. Smith also scored at least one goal in each of
Redlands’ 15 games. Nationally, she ranks sixth for goals per
game at 4.53 and 14th for draw controls per game at 4.27.
Due to her solid contributions during a three-game stint in the
Pacific Northwest, Smith was named Division III Rookie of the Week
by WomensLacrosse.com for the week of April 21. She provided 11
goals and two assists for 13 points while also garnering 16 draw
controls and eight ground balls.
Most recently, Smith landed on the Intercollegiate Women’s
