CORAL SPRINGS, FL - The 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced recently with 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high level academic achievements of the players.

Three University of Redlands student-athletes were recognized including Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA), Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA), and Andrea York (Oakdale, CA).  Jugar lands on the team for the fourth time, Liu receives recognition for the third straight year and York finds her way onto the team for the first time in her career. 

Jugar finished her career with a 3.79 Cumulative GPA and majored in Environmental Science.  She put together a remarkable senior season being named a WGCA 1st Team All-American, 1st Team All-SCIAC, WGCA 1st Team All-West Region, CSC Academic All-Region, received the SCIAC Character Award and was the NCAA Division III National Championship Individual Runner-Up.  On the year she posted a 73.69 scoring average, the second lowest in program history, only 0.08 shots higher than her 2021-22 average. 

Liu, an HMS: Health, Medicine, and Society major, finished her junior year with a 3.82 GPA.  She was a 1st Team All-SCIAC selection, took home the individual title at SCIAC No. 1, tied for 13th at SCIAC No. 2 and was the top Bulldog finisher in 5th place at the SCIAC Championships.  Her second round 67 at the SCIAC Championships was the third lowest single round performance and moved her to the third best performer in program history. She shot a first and second round 140 (73-67), which was the eighth lowest two-round performance and the fourth best two-round performer. She also added a 143 (67-76) in rounds two and three for the 15th lowest two-round score.    

York, who carries a 3.67 GPA is majoring in Psychology and put together the best single season in her career being named 1st Team All-SCIAC, WGCA 2nd Team All-American, WGCA 1st Team All-West Region, and CSC Academic All-Region.  On the year she had a 76.26 scoring average, the 12th lowest in program history. It is her second consecutive season posting a Top-20 mark.

To be selected, a student-athlete must:

• Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

• Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.

• Played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
