REDLANDS, Calif. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2023 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team this week with the University of Redlands having five players from three teams being recognized for the first time in their careers.

The five players include Nina Davis (Bainbridge Island, WA) and Emma Beaver (Bend, OR) from Women's Lacrosse, Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) and Andrea York (Oakdale, CA) from Women's Golf and Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, CA) from Women's Water Polo. 

The 2023 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. With their selections, these four Bulldogs move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, and the Academic All-American teams will be announced at the end of May.

Davis and Beaver were the two seniors from the Women's Lacrosse team and put together some strong numbers for the Maroon and Grey.  Davis graduated with a degree in Psychology, posted a 3.89 GPA and plans to attend graduate school.  This season she played as the Bulldogs primary defender in 15 games collecting 28 groundballs and causing 21 turnovers.  During the season she was named the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Beaver, who was selected 2nd Team All-SCIAC, graduated with a pair of degrees in Environmental Studies and HMS: Health, Medicine, and Society, while carrying a 3.96 GPA plans to travel before returning to attend graduate school.  She was a midfielder for the Bulldogs playing and starting in all 16 games this season.  She totaled 18 goals, three assists, 26 groundballs, 73 draw controls, 13 caused turnovers, and a 73.8% shot on goal percentage.

Zielinski had a big season for the Women's Water Polo team leading them to a 5th place finish in the SCIAC standings.  She graduated with a degree in Biology, posted a 3.63 GPA and will be going to Hawaii-Pacific University to earn her Master's this fall, while playing another year of soccer.  As the goalie for the Maroon and Grey she collected the awards this year being named 1st Team All-SCIAC, the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year and the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week four times.  She finished her senior season with a goal, three assists, 33 steals, 256 saves, a .525 save percentage, and allowed only 9.62 goals per game.

Jugar and York were a part of a Women's Golf team that qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, placing sixth overall.  The team was nationally ranked inside the Top-3 a majority of the season and were runner-ups for the SCIAC Championship Title. Jugar, who graduated with a 3.79 GPA and a degree in Environmental Science plans to go into environmental research for graduate school but staying within the realm of golf.  She put together an amazing senior season being the runner-up up at the NCAA Division III National Championships, a 1st Team WGCA All-American, a WGCA 1st Team All-West Region performer, selected 1st Team All-SCIAC, and winning the SCIAC Character Award.  During the season she completed 23 rounds of golf and finished with a 73.69 average, the second lowest in program history, only 0.08 shots higher than her 2021-22 average. In her career she played 70 rounds with an average of 74.05, her lowest career average, 1.217 shots better than second place.

York, who is majoring in Psychology, carries a 3.67 GPA and plans to attend graduate school upon leaving the University of Redlands also had a stellar season earning 2nd Team WGCA All-American honors, being a WGCA 1st Team All-West Region selection, and landing on the 1st Team All-SCIAC.  During her junior season she shot 23 rounds with an average of 76.26, the 12th lowest in program history. It is her second consecutive season posting a Top-20 mark.
