Hannah Jugar and Jamie Zantua earn Character Award and Coaching Staff of the Year

2023 SCIAC Women's Golf All-SCIAC Teams

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the All-SCIAC members and the individual awards for Women's Golf with Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) receiving the SCIAC Character Award and Jamie Zantua, and assistants Brad Breier and Kyle Sharp, being recognized as the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Jugar is the first Bulldog recipient of the SCIAC Character Award. She was also named 1st Team All-SCIAC for the third time in her career after tying for eighth at SCIAC No. 1, winning SCIAC No. 2, and taking sixth at the SCIAC Championships.

She is a Magna Cum Laude Latin honors recipient, while making the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Scholar All-America team, the University of Redlands Dean's List, and receiving the Roger Tomlinson Undergraduate Award for Excellence in GIS. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Spatial Studies.

Jamie Zantua was named the women's Head Coach in January, and with it became the first full-time golf head coach in program history. Zantua also serves as the men's Head Coach, as he just completed his fifth season on that side and seventh overall. He is assisted by Brad Breier and Kyle Sharp who are also in their first season with the Bulldogs.  

During Zantua's inaugural season as the Head Coach for the women's program, he led the Bulldogs to a second overall finish in SCIAC, only two strokes behind Pomona-Pitzer. He helped the Bulldogs win SCIAC No. 1 and No. 2 before taking third at the SCIAC Championships. Redlands has been ranked within the Top-3 nationally his entire tenure and they earned the first At-Large berth and No. 1 overall seed into the NCAA Division III National Championships taking place in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.
