2023 SCIAC Women's Golf All-SCIAC Teams

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2023 Women's Golf All-SCIAC awards with four Bulldogs making the 1st Team. Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) earned the SCIAC Character Award and Head Coach Jamie Zantua and assistants Brad Breier and Kyle Sharp were named the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Bulldogs have had All-SCIAC selections every year since the first awards were given in 2012. The four 1st Team selections are the most in program history (not including 2021 when only three schools participated) and ties Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (2012, 2017) for the most 1st Teamers in SCIAC history.

Receiving 1st Team All-SCIAC honors included Jugar, Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA), Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA), and Andrea York (Oakdale, CA).

Jugar has now made the 1st Team three times in her career (no awards were given in 2020 due to COVID-19). She tied for eighth at SCIAC No. 1, took home the title at SCIAC No. 2, and was sixth at the SCIAC Championships.

Jugar's second round 67 at SCIAC No. 2 is the third lowest single round performance and became the third best performer in program history. Her first and second round 137 (70-67) moved her into second for the lowest two-round score and second best two-round performer. Her first round 71 at the SCIAC Championships was the 28th lowest single round performance. She was also the SCIAC Women's Golfer of the Week twice, March 21 and April 4.

Liu is a 1st Team member for the second straight year. She won SCIAC No. 1, tied for 13th at SCIAC No. 2, and was the top Bulldog finisher in fifth place at the SCIAC Championships.

Liu's second round 67 at the SCIAC Championships was the third lowest single round performance and moved her to the third best performer in program history. She shot a first and second round 140 (73-67), which was the eighth lowest two-round performance and the fourth best two-round performer. She also added a 143 (67-76) in rounds two and three for the 15th lowest two-round score.

Nicholson has the most decorated SCIAC awards career as she is making the 1st Team for the fourth time (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023). She took seventh at SCIAC No. 1, tied for 13th at SCIAC No. 2, and tied for 11th at the SCIAC Championships. She was also the SCIAC Women's Golfer of the Week on April 10.

York is an All-SCIAC member for the second straight year, adding to her 2022 2nd Team recognition. She tied for fourth at SCIAC No. 1, tied for second at SCIAC No. 2, and tied for 21st at the SCIAC Championships. In round one at SCIAC No. 2 she shot a 70, the 14th lowest single round performance moving her into fifth place among the best single round performers. Her two-round 144 (70-74) made her the eighth best performer in program history.

The Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Division III National Championships taking place from Tuesday-Friday, May 9-12 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida as they look to win the program's first National Championship.
