Women’s Golf selected No. 4 in WGCA Preseason Rankings

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced this week their preseason polls for Division III.  The University of Redlands Women's Golf team looks to build off of their past years success coming into the upcoming season ranked No. 4 in the preseason WGCA coaches poll.     

This past spring the Bulldogs finished 4th at the NCAA Division III National Championships, won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) team and individual titles, had five players named WGCA All-American Scholars (Mariah Moon, Hannah Jugar, Iris Liu, Gabrielle Kiger, Andrea York), and saw Jugar, Liu, and Kendall Nicholson named WGCA All-Americans. The Bulldogs also swept the SCIAC postseason awards getting the Athlete of the Year (Jugar), Newcomer of the Year (Kiger), and Coaching Staff of the Year honors (Jack Stewart).

Redlands is one of three SCIAC schools on the national poll with Claremont-M-S sitting at No. 15 and Pomona-Pitzer at No. 20.  California Lutheran University also received votes (15).

The Bulldogs have a busy upcoming fall with three events in the month of September.  They start at the CA State Intercollegiate on September 13-14 being hosted in Thousand Oaks, CA at Olivas Links Golf Club.  They then return the next week September 18-19 to host their annual Redlands Fall Shootout in Rancho Mirage at The S Club.  They then wrap up their fall with a trip to Houston, TX for the Division III Preview Tournament taking place on September 27-28 at Bay Oaks Country Club.
