No. 1 Redlands Women's Golf Leads After Day One of SCIAC Championships

The No. 1 Redlands women's golf team excitedly competed on day one of the 2021 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships on Sunday, April 25, at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills. After the opening 18 holes, the Maroon and Gray women lead the competition with a first-day total of 311, nine strokes ahead of second place. The team also leads with 58 pars.

Sophomore Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) led the charge for Redlands with an opening total of 75. She shot even on par-five holes and recorded 11 pars and two birdies.

First-year Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA) followed in tied-for-fourth place signing her scorecard with a 78 and shot even on par threes.

First-year Gabrielle Kiger (Hermosa Beach, CA) and junior Malia Kiger (Hermosa Beach, CA) both shot a 79, tying each other for sixth place. G. Kiger shot plus-one on par three and par four holes and totaled 11 pars over the day.

Junior Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) and senior Annie Hay (University Place, WA) round out the Bulldog golfers with scores of 81 and 83, respectively. Nicholson sits in ninth place while Hay ties-for-11th.

The team looks forward to hitting the links on Monday for day two of the SCIAC Championships at Los Serranos Golf Course.
