Earlier today, the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Committee announced the 22 teams and six individuals that will participate in the 2017 NCAA Championships on May 9-12.  Among the qualifiers, junior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) of the University of Redlands looks to defend her 2016 NCAA individual national title as one of six individuals who will play in this year's tournament, which takes place at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

In late March, the Bulldogs competed at the championship course during the Mary Hardin-Baylor DIII National Spring Preview.  After co-leading the event through the opening 18 holes, Ordian completed the tournament with a final score of 153 (74-79) to finish third on the leaderboard.

Most recently, Ordian placed second at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship Tournament by signing her scorecard with a 224 (74-80-70).  She registered the only eagle of the competition and notched the lowest round of the event. Overall, she co-led the field in par-five scoring with a plus-one average of 5.08 and tallied seven birdies and 31 pars over the three days.

In addition, Ordian currently ranks third in all of Division III with an adjusted scoring average of 75.94.
