No. 7 Bulldog Women's Golf Finishes Day One of NCAA Championships in Seventh Place

The No. 7 University of Redlands women's golf team fired off an opening-round 318 at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon to begin the four-today tournament in seventh place. With 54 holes remaining, the Bulldogs are just 15 strokes behind the leaders from the University of Texas-Tyler.

Sophomore Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) put together a solid first 18 holes by earning a tied-for-third-place showing with a round of 73 for one-over par.  She recorded 13 pars and two birdies on the day. 

After holing 12 pars, junior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) signed her first-round scorecard with a 78 to finish among the top-20 players in the field. 

Junior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA), senior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA), and junior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) completed the Bulldogs' opening-round marks with consecutive scores of 83, 84, and 85, respectively.

As a team, Redlands registered 47 pars to tie for third among the field.

The Bulldogs continue with NCAA Championship action on Wednesday, May 11, at the Bay Oaks Golf Course, beginning at 7:45 a.m. C.T. on the 10th hole.
