Studious Six Represents Bulldog Women’s Golf on WGCA All-American Scholar Team

It was announced on Monday that six members of the University of Redlands women's golf team were among the 758 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars due to their exemplary academic success.

The WGCA requires each student-athlete to own a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to receive this prestigious award, making it one of the toughest academic requirements in college athletics.  They also must compete in 12 rounds during the season.

Redlands is one of three teams from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to land among the WGCA All-America Scholar Team.  The only other schools to be represented are Whittier College and Occidental College, with one honoree each.

Senior Dalton Meade (Sandy, OR) headlines the Bulldogs' selections as a four-year contributor to the rising success of the women's golf team.  She completed her degree in Political Science and celebrated her graduation in late April.

Juniors Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) and McKenna Pautsch (San Clemente, CA) also receive this recognition as WGCA All-American Scholars.  After putting together an impressive third season with the Maroon and Gray, Dorsey looks to build upon that momentum in her final year when she will complete her degree in Business Administration.  A first-year transfer student-athlete from Saddleback College, Pautsch made solid contributions in her inaugural season with the Bulldogs.  She studies Art/Graphic Design.

Sophomores Kari Gordon and Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) also met the stringent academic criteria for this impressive accolade from the WGCA.  In addition to being twin sisters, they mimic one another in the classroom, as they each own the same impressive GPA.

Finally, freshman Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) adds to her already expansive list of achievements in just her first year at Redlands by collecting this scholarly award.  She plans to continue her impressive golfing career while pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

Each of these honorees played a significant role in the Bulldogs' first-ever conference title and inaugural appearance at the NCAA Championships, where the team finished eighth overall.

The group boasts an average GPA is 3.695.
