Rookie Kochar Leads Bulldog Women’s Golf to Third-Place Finish at CMS Co-Ed Invite

Freshman Tavleen Kochar (La Habra, CA) recorded back-to-back rounds of 80 and 82 to help the University of Redlands women's golf program finish third in its second event of the 2011-12 campaign. The Bulldogs had four out of their five scorers tally two-day totals of 168 or less while the group led the field with 11 birdies during the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges Co-Ed Invitational at Empire Lakes Golf Course.

The Redlands men's team also competed in the event, finishing third out of the eight programs at the tournament.

Kochar tied for fourth overall, tallying 19 pars and the second-most birdies (3).

Just one stroke behind Kochar, sophomore Siarra Waddy (Temecula, CA) posted a tournament score of 163 (76, 87).  On day one, Waddy tied the program's all-time low mark of 76 and led the group with four birdies over the two rounds.

Sophomore swinger Hannah Durette (Oceanside, CA) signed her scorecard with a 164 (80, 84).  She led all golfers on the long par-fives, shooting just one over during the 36-hole event.

Veteran senior Tracy Saracino (Englewood, CO) placed fourth for the Maroon and Gray with rounds of 82 and 85.

Rounding out the Bulldog scorers, freshman Jayna Domingo (Walnut, CA) finished the tournament with a mark of 193 (98, 95), giving Redlands five players in sub-100 scoring.

Redlands travels to Waikoloa, Hawaii, for the Dennis Rose Tournament on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
