REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Basketball team will take on California Lutheran University (CLU) this Saturday, February 12 at 4:00pm. The first time these two programs met, which was inside Currier Gym the Bulldogs earned the 68-51 win. If the Maroon and Grey can pull out a victory on the road, they will be crowned the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Regular Season Champions.

University of Redlands Coming into the Game 
The Bulldogs are riding a three-game winning streak and have won five of six as they sit atop the conference standings at 16-4, 12-2 SCIAC. In their last game at the University of La Verne, they managed to work around an early nine-point deficit and pulled out an 80-70 win. Hannah Jerrier had 16 points and 17 rebounds, Angelina Roque stayed in her groove offensively with another 20-point performance, and Chyanne Pagkalinawan and Alyssa Downs added 12 and 17 points, respectively. 

Cal Lutheran University Coming into the Game 
The Regals are in seventh place with the conference standings at 6-13, 4-9 SCIACl. They have been a back-and-forth program as of late with no more than two consecutive wins or losses over their last nine games. In their previous contest they lost against Caltech 62-51. In their four conference wins, they have not allowed more than 72 points and are 1-4 when allowing more than 72 points this season. 

Head-to-Head (Past Seven Years) 

This matchup has been one of the most competitive ones for the Bulldogs. Over the last six seasons they have played the Regals twelve times with the series tied at 6-6. Since the 2018-19 season though, Redlands has owned the match-up going 5-1.

By the Numbers 

University of Redlands –   The Bulldogs are the second highest scoring team in the conference at 71.6 PPG and lead the conference in field goal percentage (44.1 percent) by a large margin with the next best team at 39.7 percent. They also sit second in three-point percentage at 31.4, but they do not rely on the three with only 306 total attempts, third fewest.

The Bulldogs are the fourth best scoring defense at 63.2 PPG, and only allow 37.2 percent shooting from the field (2nd) and 31.5 percent from three (7th). The Bulldogs' tandem of Jerrier and Julia Balestreri have helped them to a plus 6 rebounding margin, the best in the conference.

Cal Lutheran University – The Regals are the third lowest scoring team at 60.8 PPG, and the second worst shooting team at 37.1 percent, but they do sit as the third highest in three-point percentage at 31.2%, but that is a low number regardless of ranking. One area to watch is their rebounding, they are second at 39.1 RPG and third in rebounding margin at plus 2.3.

Their scoring defense allows 67.5 PPG (7th), 38.9 percent shooting (5th), 6.9 SPG (8th), and 2.3 BPG (7th).
