A familiar face to Bulldog Athletics, Andrew Clarey moved from a part-time role into the full-time Assistant Track & Field Coach in October of 2017.  He specifically focuses on the throws but contributes to all aspects of the Bulldogs’ program.

Hailing from Redlands, Clarey competed in football and track & field for Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) foe, Occidental College, in nearby Eagle Rock. He garnered two All-SCIAC awards in the Shot Put in his final two seasons with the Tigers. He also received the 2016 Jon Jamison Award, which is given to an outstanding field athlete at Occidental.

Clarey graduated from Occidental College with his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in the Spring of 2016.  He is also certified through Coach Derek Evely on the Bondarchuk System training methodology and has his USTFCCCA Track & Field Technical Certification.

Prior to joining the University of Redlands on a full-time basis, he was a teacher at nearby Cope Middle School.

Clarey attributes his experiences in track & field as a significant part of his life that has shaped him into who he is today. He looks forward to doing what he loves every day and helping others find the joy in it as well.
