Markelle Raymond named SCIAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

SCIAC Men's Track & Field Weekly Release No. 12

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week in the twelfth week of voting and University of Redlands senior Markelle Raymond (Fresno, CA) earns recognition for the first time in his career. 

Markelle led the University of Redlands Men's Track & Field team to a perfect SCIAC No. 3 multi-dual with wins over Chapman, Pomona-Pitzer, Cal Lutheran, and Occidental.  The Bulldogs finish the Multi-Dual season going 7-1 and Markelle on Saturday was huge for the Maroon and Grey winning three events coming in the 100m with a time of 10.70 and then the Long Jump with a personal best mark of 6.97m.  Then to cap off the day he anchored the 4x100 Relay team that took home the top time with a 42.11.  

Redlands now turns their attention to the SCIAC Championships as they head to the University of La Verne in two weeks, Sunday-Monday, April 29-30.
