Bulldog Women's Track & Field dominates sprinting and jumping events at Redlands Invitational

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Track and Field team had seven top-eight finishes at the Redlands Invitational inside Ted Runner Stadium Friday.

The Bulldogs continued their dominance of the sprinting events this season, having the fourth and fifth place finishers in the 100m, fifth in the 200m, while taking third in the 4x100 relay.

Sydney Harness (Henderson, NV) and Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA) were fourth and fifth in the 100m with identical times of 12.47. Harness added a fifth-place finish in the 200m with a time of 25.59. Both athletes were on the 4x100 relay team that also featured Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) and Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) as they ran a 47.80, the seventh fastest time in program history.

CeCe Matteson (Seattle, WA) ran a personal best time of 2:26.92 in the 800m as she came in eighth. Just missing out on a top-eight finish was Eve Mavy (Thayne, WY) who also posted a personal best time of 2:28.65.

Chloe Bullock (Hood River, OR) won the 3000m with the third fastest time in program history at 10:14.58. Also, inside the top-eight was Sheriane Greene (Grass Valley, CA) who was fourth with a personal best of 11:11.43 followed by Sailor Brown (San Diego, CA) in fifth at 11:27.90, another personal best time.

Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA) was one of three Bulldogs in the 100m Hurdles, finishing as the top Redlands finisher in fourth place with a time of 15.14. She was also the runner-up in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:06.55.

Joining Bachmeier in the top-eight in the 400m Hurdles was Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) who ran a personal best time of 1:11.69.

Madison Eaton (Rocklin, CA) was successful in each of her first attempts at her first two heights as she took sixth in the high jump following a successful second height of 1.45m/4' 9".

Helping the Bulldogs to a dominating day in the jumps was the new NCAA Division III Indoor All-American Ciara Aw (Shoreline, WA) who took third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. She posted marks of 5.37m/17' 7.5" and 10.45m/34' 3.5".

In the third position in the triple jump was Adams, who came back from two fouls to start the event by jumping 10.65m/34' 11.25" in her final attempt.

Getting into the throws the Bulldogs had Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) who was just outside the top-eight in ninth in what was a very competitive field with six higher division athletes finishing above her in the shot put. Sherry threw 11.80m/38' 8.75" on her second attempt as she set a new personal best and moved into sixth in program history.

The final event that featured Bulldogs inside the top-eight was the discus where Caeli Havel (Pahrump, NV) took fifth and Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) came in sixth. Havel threw 38.59m/126' 7" on her fourth and final attempt and Chavez threw 38.07m/124' 11" on her second attempt.

The Bulldogs will have next week off as they will stay inside Ted Runner Stadium for Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) No. 2 on Saturday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m.
