U of R Women's Indoor Track & Field earns six USTFCCCA All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS – The  U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region honorees and the Bulldog women had six athletes across seven events make the list.  The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.  

The six Bulldogs recognized included Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA) in the 60m, Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) in the Triple Jump, Ciara Aw (Shoreline, WA) in the Long Jump, Ella Bachmeier (Rancho Capistrano, CA) in the 60m Hurdles and the Pentathlon, Sydney Harness (Henderson, NV) in the 200m, and Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) in the Weight Throw.

Ackerman had a season-best time of 7.85 seconds in the 60m at the Northern Arizona University (NAU) Tune-Up in February as she took ninth in her heat.

Adams jumped 11.58m/38' 0" at the Ron Mann Classic hosted by NAU at the beginning of February as she finished fifth in the finals.

Aw took second in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.43m/17' 9.75" at the Ron Mann Classic, but two weeks later she set a new personal best and qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships with a jump of 5.64m/18' 6", improving her third-best mark in program history.

Bachmeier made the all-region team in the 60m Hurdles where she posted a personal best time of 9.06 at the NAU Tune-Up. She also made all-region as a pentathlete, scoring a personal best 2885 points at the Ron Mann Classic. In the Pentathlon she had personal best marks in the Shot Put (9.46m/31' 0.5"), Long Jump (4.72m/15' 6"), and the 800m (2:39.80).

Harness opened her indoor season at the Ron Mann Classic and set a new personal best time of 7.86 in the 60m, earning her all-region.

Sernaque Falcon competed in one indoor event and meet, but she wasted no time setting a new personal best in the Weight Throw of 13.48m/4' 2.75".
