Bulldog Track & Field puts up record numbers at Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers

CLAREMONT, Calif. – With eight athletes competing at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff, AZ, Head Track & Field Coach Mike Schmidt then sent the rest of his team to the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All-Comers meet.

It was a record day for the Maroon and Grey.  On the men's side 13 Bulldogs finished in the Top-10 of their respective events, with five of those finishes placing them within the Top-5.  On the women's side the Bulldogs earned 11 Top-10 finishes, six of which were Top-5 and one a victory from Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) who took home the top podium finish in the Women's Triple Jump in her collegiate debut with a mark of 10.54m. 

Another impressive finish on the women's side came from Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA) who posted the 4th fastest time in school history in the 3,000m with a time of 10:26.45, which put her 7th.  Then on the men's side Riley Lathrop (Honolulu, HI) led the Maroon and Grey with a huge PR in the Mile with a time of 4:16.68, which put him 5th.

Men

Other notable finishes on the men's side was Cristian Megas (Palmdale, CA) in the 100m (9th – 11.20) and 200m (7th – 22.4), Jamir Jones (Fairfield, CA) in the 200m (10th – 22.57) and 400m (4th (50.11), Taysir Asberry-Blanco (Orange County, NY) in the 110m Hurdles (10th – 17.37), Michael Meheen (Carmel, CA) in the Pole Vault (7th – 4.25m), Jack Gordon (Las Vegas, NV) in the Pole Vault (9th – 3.95m), Edward Seo in the Long Jump (7th – 6.23m) and Triple Jump (5th – 12.12m), Steven Nakamura (San Jose, CA) in the Long Jump (8th – 6.12m), Cameron LaRiccia (San Diego, CA) in the Triple Jump (4th – 12.30m), and Tyler Davies (Lake Forest, CA) in the Shot Put (5th – 12.73m).     

Women

On the women's side their other Top-10 finishers included Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA) in the 400m (2nd – 57.87), Chloe Bullock (Hood River, OR) in the Mile (7th – 5:24.09), Adams in the Long Jump (3rd – 4.98m), Christen Wiley (South San Francisco, CA) in the Triple Jump (3rd – 10.13m) and Long Jump (7th – 4.83m), Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) in the Shot Put (9th – 9.92m), Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) in the Discus (3rd – 36.31m), Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) in the Hammer (5th - 36.83), and Grace Beaty (Upland, CA) in the Hammer (8th – 35.19m).    

Redlands will now send athletes back east this Saturday, February 26 when they compete in the CNU Qualifier and Combined Events in Newport News, VA before traveling up to Boston, MA for the BU Last Chance Meet.
