U of R Track & Field Competes at Ron Mann Classic | Tucker Cargile Wins 800m

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – The University of Redlands Track & Field teams opened up 2022 over the weekend sending 17 Bulldogs to the Indoor Ron Mann Classic, hosted by Northern Arizona University.

The event took place inside the Northern Arizona Skydome at nearly 7,000 feet above sea level and the Maroon and Grey finished the two days with nine finalists and a total of six top-eight finishes.  Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) highlighted the weekend winning the 800m with a time of 1:55.19, beating out runners from Northern Arizona, UC Riverside, Southern Utah and the University of La Verne.  He also competed in the mile and set a mark of 4:15.27, which placed him 3rd overall.  With the altitude conversion, which moves his time to 4:06 he now moves into the Top 3 for NCAA Division III.

Other finalists from the weekend included Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) who competed in his first college meet/indoor meet finishing 4th in the High Jump with a mark of 1.88m.  On the women's side Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA) took 6th in the 400m with a time of 59.55, Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR) took 7th in the 600m (1:48.01) and 12th in the High Jump (1.40m), Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA) finished 12th in the Mile (5:38.59) and 13th in the 800m (2:31.32), and Ciara Aw (Seattle, WA) competed in the Long Jump placing 6th (5:14m).          

Redlands will now send student-athletes to Boston, MA this weekend, February 11-12 to compete in the Indoor David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
