University of Redlands Track and Field Announces 2022 Schedule

2022 University of Redlands Track & Field Schedule

REDLANDS, Calif. – University of Redlands Head Track & Field Coach Mike Schmidt released his 2022 schedule this week, which includes five events out of state and two home meets inside Ted Runner Stadium. 

The Bulldogs begin their season with the Mountain T Invitational in Flagstaff, AZ this weekend, February 4-5.  Other meets on the schedule taking place out of state will include the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Boston, MA), the NAU Tune-Up (Flagstaff, AZ), the NCAA Div. III Indoor Championships (Winston-Salem, NC), and the Jim Click Multis (Tucson, AZ).   

The Maroon and Grey will also host two meets inside Ted Runner Stadium, including the Redlands Invitational (Friday, March 18) and the Redlands Final Qualifier (Wednesday and Thursday, May 18-19). 

Recent Meet History

  • Mountain T Invitational (Flagstaff, AZ): Last entry was in 2020 when the Bulldogs set five new Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) indoor records.
  • David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Boston, MA): Last traveled to Boston in 2020 with current graduate Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) setting a new school record in the 800M with a 20th place finish.
  • NAU Tune-Up (Flagstaff, Ariz.): The Bulldogs competed in this meet in 2020 and had three first place finishes. Current junior Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA) took second place in the 60M; graduate Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR) finished fifth in the 400M.
  • Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet: The previous trip to this meet was in 2020. Current junior Jack Gordon (Las Vegas, NN) finished fourth in the pole vault.
  • NCAA Indoor Championships (Winston-Salem, N.C.): The 2020 Championships were cancelled and there were no 2021 championships. Cargile competed in the mile in 2019 and finished 17th.
  • Oxy Distance Carnival: Cancelled in 2020. Previous edition the Bulldogs were at was in 2018 when Cargile took third place in the 800M.
  • Jim Click Multis (Tucson AZ): Cancelled in 2020. Albrecht had a then career-high 4,280 points and finished eighth in the heptathlon.
  • Whittier Twilight Meet: Cancelled in 2020. No previous meets since 2008.
  • Pomona-Pitzer Invite: Cancelled in 2020. In the 2019 edition, Cargile had a career-best time in the 800M as he took third. Current graduate Quentin Olive-Larson (Fort Collins, CO) had a career-best time in the 5000M.
  • SCIAC Championships (Whittier, CA): The men and women swept the 2021 championships.
  • Occidental Invitational: Cancelled in 2020. Albrecht was on the 4X100M relay team that finished sixth. Cargile finished fifth in the 800M with a career-best time. Current graduate Cooper Malerstein (Huntington Beach, CA) was on the third place, 4X100M relay team.
  • Redlands Final Qualifier: In 2021 Albrecht won the heptathlon with a career-best 4,569 points. Now senior Alexis Wallace (Orangevale, CA) won and ran her fastest 5000M time. Current junior Sheriane Greene (Grass Valley, CA) set her career-best time with a third place finish in the 5000M. Now junior Grace Beaty (Upland, CA) finished second with a career-best mark in the hammer. Glenn also ran a career-best time and finished third as she moved into the top-10 list in the 3000M Steeplechase. Senior Riley Lathrop (Honolulu, HI) ran a career best 1500M time. Sophomore Tyler Davies (Lake Forest, CA) set career-best throws in the discus and shot put. Sophomore Michael Meheen (Carmel, CA) set a career-best in the pole vault. Junior Cristian Megas (Palmdale, CA) ran his fastest career 200M time.
  • NCAA Outdoor Championships (Geneva, OH): Graduate Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA), senior Courtney O'Neal (Las Vegas, NV), Ackerman, sophomore Sydney Harness (Henderson, NV) all competed in the 2021 championships.
