Redlands Women's Track & Field Continues Historic Climb in Latest USTFCCCA Rankings

The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its most recent rating index on Tuesday afternoon with the University of Redlands women's track & field team continuing its historic climb to No. 2 in the country with 129.05 points. The Bulldogs are one of three Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) schools in the top 25 and the only conference school in the top 10.

Anchoring the team's point total for the ratings, junior Jessica Fields (Las Vegas, NV) remains the fastest hurdler in NCAA Division III with the top time in each event. She recently upped the ante at the SCIAC Track & Field Championships with the fastest times of her career en route to being named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week. Fields won the 100 Hurdles with a time of 14.10 and captured a SCIAC record in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:01.05. Junior Chyenne Kimble (Big Bear Lake, CA) joins Fields with the second-fastest 100 Hurdle time in the nation with her speedy 14.19 mark, which came at the SCIAC No. 2 meet.

Kimble's versatility also adds quality points in the 100 Meters, 200 Meters, and Heptathlon with marks among the top 16 in the country.  Furthermore, she combines talents with sophomore Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR), and first-years Annick Bangou (Redlands, CA) and Courtney O'Neal (Atlanta, GA) as a formidable 4x100 Relay with the second-fastest time in the country at 46.74.

As another major contributor to the team's rankings, graduate student Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) boasts the best Shot-Put mark in the country with a distance of 48' 3/4".

Redlands takes its talents to the Oxy Invitational on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m.
