Bulldog Women’s Track & Field Leaps to No. 13 on USTFCCCA National Rankings

The women's track & field moved up to No. 13 in the nation.

After a three-spot slip last week, the University of Redlands women's track & field quickly rebounded in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor rankings by surging 10 positions to No. 13 in the nation.  The Bulldogs had hovered between 20th and 24th in previous top-25 lists but reach their season-high of 13th in the fourth week of rankings.

Based on a mathematical formula that calculates points from the current NCAA Division III Descending Order Lists, the Bulldogs amassed 66.95 points for an improvement of 18.08 points to move up 10 spots from last week's ranking.

Sophomore Chyenne Kimble (Big Bear Lake, CA) continues to impress in a variety of events, as she ranks among the nation's top 10 in the Heptathlon (sixth – 4,487), 100 Hurdles (eighth – 14.71), and 100 Meters (10th – 12.15).  She also contributed to the Bulldogs' 15th-ranked time of 48.03 in the 4x100 Relay that includes first-year Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR), senior Sophie Brooks (Seattle, WA), and junior Kara Romani (Sacramento, CA).

Sophomore Jessica Fields (Las Vegas, NV) supplies quality support in the 100 Hurdles with the 10th-best time in Division III at 14.73 while also ranking 10th in the 400 Meters with a mark of 62.64.

Furthermore, senior Vanessa Blanchard (Palmdale, CA) sits seventh in the High Jump with a height of 5' 5 ¾", while senior Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) ranks ninth in the Shot Put at 44' 7 ½".  Finally, senior Mandy Widen (Vail, AZ) holds the 10th spot in the nation for the Pole Vault with a school-record mark of 12' 4".

Redlands women's track & field remains fourth in the West Region with 363.28 points.

Although not nationally ranked, the Bulldog men also sit fourth in the region with four top-15 marks in Division III.  Junior Luke Bohlinger (Mercer Island, WA) owns the nation's eighth-fastest time in the 200 Meters at 21.49 and sits 13th in the 100 with a time of 10.71.  Among this season's NCAA Division III marks, senior Wyatt Pannabecker (Choteau, MT) ranks 11th in the Triple Jump with a leap of 47' 7 ¾", while first-year Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) lands 13th in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:52.75.
